How SignBox works

One document, one workflow - follow it from draft to a sealed, validated signed document.

Example · hiring a new employee
  1. 1HR uploads the employment agreement.
  2. 2The new hire gets a secure signing link by email - no account needed.
  3. 3They confirm their identity and sign on their phone with Smart-ID.
  4. 4HR sees the status update automatically.
  5. 5The final signed file is stored and independently verifiable.

Internal & external portals

Initiators build and track processes in the internal portal; signers act externally through a secure handoff - no account required.

Internal Initiates
External Signs
Initiators work in the internal portal; a document is handed off securely, signed externally, and the signed status returns automatically.

Signer

Applies a legally valid signature.

Approver

Approves the process without signing.

Viewer

Can only view the document.

Parallel or sequential signing

Send to everyone at once, or enforce a strict signing order group by group.

A signed file you can trust - and prove

Every signature is independently verifiable and tamper-evident, and the file stays valid for years - no special software needed to check it. Here is what is inside.

Original document — the content
The exact file everyone agrees to. Everything else binds to this.
Digital signature — who
A qualified XAdES signature ties a verified identity (Smart-ID, eID) to the file.
Trusted timestamp — when
A qualified TSA proves the signature existed at a specific moment in time.
Validation data — still valid
Embedded CRL/OCSP proof keeps it verifiable for years (LT — long-term).
Long-term legally valid
A qualified electronic signature (QES) — equivalent to a handwritten one under eIDAS.

Frequently asked questions

The essentials for evaluating SignBox - including what signing feels like and what you get at the end.

Are SignBox signatures legally valid?

Yes. SignBox produces qualified electronic signatures (QES) in a XAdES-LT, long-term-validatable ASiC-E container - the highest assurance level under eIDAS, with built-in validation.

What does signing look like for the person I invite?

They open the secure link, choose an e-ID method, confirm their identity and sign - usually in under a minute. No account, and nothing to install.

What do I get at the end?

A single signed file: an ASiC-E container holding the original document, every signature, trusted timestamps and validation data. You can download it and verify it independently.

Can the signed file be verified later, outside SignBox?

Yes. The container is a standard eIDAS format any compliant validator can check, with embedded long-term validation data that keeps it verifiable for years.

Which e-ID methods are supported?

Smart-ID, Mobile-ID, eParaksts and national ID cards, with country-specific methods selected by the signer on the external portal.

Do external signers need an account?

No. A signer opens a secure invitation link, authenticates with their e-ID and signs - no SignBox account required.

What is the difference between Completed and Finished?

Completed means every recipient has acted. Finished means the final signed document has been generated and the process is closed - two distinct milestones.

Can I reuse a recurring signing setup?

Yes - save templates, contacts and document profiles so a recurring process starts pre-filled in seconds.
